My Toooooooooth! ~by Nix

Hello this is the No Woman No Fly news blog. I’m Nix, as you might know I wrote some news on the

news blog. So, on Friday 6 of December it was like 5:08pm and my front tooth was a little loose. We made 2 groups for dinner we we’re going out for dinner, the first group was Tejas, Arsh, (Nix)me, last group Jovan, and Roxanne. My group went to a burger place we all got burgers and I  was taking a bite and once my tooth touched the patty it got as  loose as  it could! So, fast forward I only ate the patty. We went for ice cream in a bowl and I was taking a bite and my tooth leaned on the spoon and it broke off I! I spit it out, my tooooooooooooooooooooooooottttthh!

Pokémon and Magic! ~ by Jovan

This will be my favourite post because I will writing about the two tournaments we went to. The 1st one was a Pokémon tournament and the second was a Magic tournament!  How we found about the tournament is my mom went online and found it at the City Hall in Brisbane. We went there and checked it out there were a lot of people and a lot of kids my age. There were three groups: The Junior Group (kids) gaming group (electronics) senior group (grown ups). The people that went there with me were Tejas (big brother) and dad. Tejas’ opinion was “ah it was okay”.  Dads said “ I thought it was big until I saw the magic tournament! and I am surprised how many people want to play Pokémon”!

It all started in the elevator when we saw some one with a Pokémon shirt and asked do you play Pokémon. They said no we used to but now we play Magic. So we followed them to the performance hall (Tejas and me pretended to act like we were ninjas because we were following them) we followed them to a huge place that was where the Magic tournament took place. There were so many people and gaming companies like Good Games. We watched two battles. At the end when we were about to leave we saw a judge and he gave us twelve (12) judge tokens that you use with some of your cards. It was so awesome to go to a tournament!

My First Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament! ~ by Tejas

This week I went to a Yu-gi-oh tournament.  When my dad told me that we are going to be Australia for four months, so why not go to a Yu-gi-oh tournament, and I thought oh that’s not actually a bad idea.  I started by searching about Yu-gi-oh in Brisbane, but it wasn’t to big, then I searched for local and popular stores that sell cards since a lot of the big Yu-gi-oh stores that sell cards also hold small tournaments.  After two days of tough searching later we only found adult tournaments. Randomly, in the elevator of our apartment we found two guys that were going to a Magic tournament. Magic is a more complex card game where you can battle other players. We followed them to the Magic tournament and found out there is going to be a Yu-gi-oh tournament on the same day from 2:00 to 6:00 pm!
We quickly rushed back to the apartment, ate lunch, packed some snacks, and got my Yu-gi-oh deck.  Then we took an Uber to a gaming shop called Good Games Brisbane. When we got there, we looked around and got super excited. We signed up with the other 21 people on the list.  My parents and brothers were there supporting me.  We got in and sat down at table 29 and warmed up.  Just a few minutes before everything started, I met this guy and he was a great Yu-gi-oh player.  Once they put the list up, I was facing this guy named Jay, he was nice and let me borrow his duel mat and gave me one amazing card and 40 white cases.  There are four rounds in one set.   There are three games in each round so.  I played six games even though there are three games most rounds, usually people only get to play two games, but I had a “bye” which is a free win.  I lost three rounds and won one round.  I didn’t make it to the second round.  At the end I came out with a bunch of card cases, some new cards, and 2 new packs.  In the end I learned lots and had fun!  Everyone one I played taught me something.
