Singapore ~ by Tejas
Singapore is a place off the coast of Malaysia. It has 5.6 Million people, and it is home to
the Biggest Glass Greenhouse, Sentosa Island, Changi Airport, the Marina Bay, the Singapore
Zoo, and more. The airport has been
voted the worlds nicest airport for many years. There is a waterfall inside the airport that we had to see as soon as our plane landed. The official languages are English, Tamil,
Malay, and Mandarin. Singapore is one of the smallest countries in the world, America
is 15,000 times bigger. Singapore's original name was Temasek, and then changed to Singa Pura, a Malay name from Sanskrit meaning Lion City. People who are born in Singapore are said to
be the fastest walkers, and have the worlds longest life expectancy. I look
forward to exploring Singapore.Hunger Games (Book Review) ~ by Jovan
In this article I will talk about our whole
family (even Nix, (sigh) who listened to the audio book until chapter 20 then
started to read), reading Hunger Games. There are three parts to it: The first
was “The Tributes”, the second “The Games”and the last “The Victor”. There are
27 chapters (now do you see why I am mad
that Nix started on chapter 21!). There are
nine chapters in each part. A quick synopsis of the book is you are looking at
the main characters perspective of the Hunger Games. Her name is Katniss and she is involved in the Hunger Games which is
held in the arena. The arena is the place where the Tributes fight to death for the
Hunger Games so their district can get an award of good food and wealth. The whole country
is watching the Games on television, including the Capitol to watch all the Tributes plan to kill each other to be the winner. Once we all finished the book we are watching the movie, it
is completely different of what I thought of the book, so after you read the
book watch the movie. (My dad said that you should read the book before you watch
the movie because the book has more detail).
Cable Car to Sentosa Island ~ by Nix
On December 16 we went to Sentosa Island and we went in a special thing called a cable car. A cable car is a moving container that has seats and you sit in there. The container has a handle that is attached to the cable that took us over the river, the buildings, and trees. We were really high up in the sky and we saw a cruise ship, trees, a beach, and the ocean. When we went there is was daytime, but when we came home it was night time so we saw all the Christmas lights when we were coming back. There was a major thunder storm so we had to wait a long time to get on the cable car to come home.
